Commonly seen in industrial estates, a hardstand (also known as hard standing or industrial lot) is a paved, concreted or compacted bare dirt area used for storage of machinery, vehicles, shipping containers, materials, etc. Hardstands can also be modified with temporary structures to create office facilities.
Hardstand fencing is a secure perimeter constructed out of chain wire fencing. Posts for hardstand yards are often a permanent structure with posts concreted into the ground. Most hardstand fences are topped with strands of barbed wire for additional security and access points are through single or double chain wire security gates.
The installation time of a hardstand yard varies from project to project; however, due to the land generally being flat and level – installation per industrial lot can be 2-3 days. For larger projects, please contact us for more information.
Based on our personal experience, hardstand yards will either opt for a larger single chain wire gate (over 2m wide) or a set of double gates for larger vehicles (over 4m wide)
